Workshop 6: 2nd Workshop on the Regulation of AI Systems

Description

With the increasing spread of AI systems, regulatory guidelines and laws have now come into force or are in preparation to govern them. One example is the European Union’s AI Act, which concerns AI applications in areas such as healthcare, transportation and public safety. AI regulation will have a variety of effects, including on the software used, internal and external processes and the organizational structure.

The aim of this workshop is to identify and discuss key challenges, solutions and experiences in dealing with current and future regulatory requirements for AI and to bring together different perspectives. The workshop offers a platform for interdisciplinary exchange between academia and practice to jointly develop approaches for dealing with the regulatory transformation in the field of artificial intelligence and to derive practical recommendations.

Registration & Submissions

Submissions and registrations for the workshop are handled through ConfTool. All accepted papers are supposed to be published.

We invite scientific and practice-oriented contributions from the following (and related) areas:

Presentation and classification of existing and planned regulatory approaches
Normative and ethical foundations of AI regulation
Comparison of regulatory frameworks (e.g. AI Act, GDPR, Digital Services Act)
Changes to internal/external processes and the organizational structure due to AI regulation
Changes to software and hardware-related contracts for work and services as a result of AI regulation
Effects on contracts for work and services in the context of AI
Experience reports: AI projects and regulatory challenges
Practical approaches to the use of “regulatory sandboxes”
Technical solutions such as Explainable AI and their integration into regulatory requirements
Data protection strategies for personal data in AI applications
