Submission Guidelines

We invite scholars, practitioners, and researchers to submit unpublished research papers as either “Completed Research Paper” or “Research-in-Progress” papers for the WI25 conference. We welcome submissions in both German and English. For each track, the respective Track Chairs have assembled an international program committee that reviews each submission through a double-blind process.

If a submission is made in German, the organizers reserve the right to translate these submissions using AI-based software. For accepted papers in German, authors will receive an AI-based translation of their paper in English. Authors can revise this translation and choose whether the original or translated version should be published in the conference proceedings. By submitting a paper in German, authors agree to a translation using AI-based software.

Presentations of accepted papers can be prepared and delivered in either German or English. The publication of accepted papers will occur in the conference proceedings in the AIS e-Library.

Completed Research Papers present scientifically validated results from the field of business informatics and related disciplines. These results make a significant contribution to the current state of research. Completed Research Papers will be included in the conference program as presentations and will be presented in three different formats.

Submissions for scientific tracks as Completed Research Papers must not exceed 12 pages (including title, abstract, appendices, author details, and acknowledgments for revised submissions; excluding bibliography) and must precede with an abstract of no more than 150 words and three to five keywords. Submissions that do not comply with these guidelines will not be reviewed.

Research-in-Progress Papers present innovative ideas or partial results. Although not yet fully implemented or researched, they should contribute to the current state of research. Accepted Research-in-Progress Papers will be presented at the conference as posters.

The Industry Track: Innovative Prototypes & Impact of IS explicitly invites submissions of practical contributions. Submissions in cooperation with industrial companies, which can also be co-authors on the paper, are welcome.

Submissions for scientific tracks as Research-in-Progress Papers must not exceed 6 pages (including title, abstract, appendices, author details, and acknowledgments for revised submissions; excluding bibliography) and must precede with an abstract of no more than 150 words and three to five keywords. Submissions that do not meet these guidelines will not be reviewed.

Submissions must be made in the following formats:

  • Initial submission (anonymized version for review): PDF document
  • Final submission (print-ready version): PDF document

Initial submissions must comply with the defined templates (Word or LaTeX). This also applies to the final submissions (Completed Research Paper and Research-in-Progress Paper) and revised contributions. Relevant templates are available below.

For anonymization, the names of the authors should be replaced with a placeholder. The first page should otherwise remain unchanged.
