September 13 to 17 2025 in Münster
About the conference
The International Conference Wirtschaftsinformatik is the most important platform for the Information Systems community in German-speaking countries. It offers academics, company representatives and young professionals the opportunity to learn about and exchange information on the current state of research and business practice. In 2025, the conference will celebrate its 20th edition at the University of Münster – the location of the first conference in 1993. The headquarters of the European Research Center for Information Systems (ERCIS) connects the conference with an international audience.

Digital Future of Society and Business
Emerging digital technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), offer great social and economic potential for solving global challenges, but also pose ethical risks. Information systems must therefore be designed in a future-oriented, responsible manner, taking into account organizational and institutional implications. Companies and governments are called upon to develop governance structures that promote innovation and at the same time uphold social values. The conference theme invites participants to examine how digital technologies contribute to overcoming economic, social and ecological problems and how information systems can be designed and regulated responsibly.
The 20th International Conference Wirtschaftsinformatik will take place in close cooperation with the INFORMATIK FESTIVAL 2025, which takes place from September 16 to 19 in Potsdam. Further information will be announced.
