Description
Over lunch, we want to continue the exchange between academics and practitioners of Information Systems in Münster. In addition to getting to know each other and networking, the discussion will focus on the relevant topic of Academic Freedom.
Studies show that academic freedom is also subject to restrictions in Germany, while at the same time the environment is imposing ever more complex requirements. A joint discussion about its foundations and ways of safeguarding it can therefore provide valuable impetus.
We are particularly pleased to have won Jan vom Brocke, AIS President-Elect, for a keynote speech. In an interactive workshop afterwards, we want to work out together what academic freedom means to us, what limits we encounter, what we would do with more freedom and what strategies can help us to develop a suitable level of academic freedom for ourselves.
